Drain whey from the finished product to replicate super-thick commercial Greek yogurt or enjoy as-is. Each box contains 2 packets of yogurt starter. Activate 1 packet using 1 quart pasteurized milk; store 2nd packet in the freezer as a back-up. Yogurt cultures at 110F using a yogurt maker or other appliance. This yogurt culture is also suitable for use with raw dairy milk or non-dairy milk, with special care. For an even creamier consistency, make a batch with 1 part heavy cream to 3 parts whole milk. Yogurt is delicious with added fruit or sweetener, and great in many recipes. Complete, easy-to-use instructions from Cultures for Health are included in each box.     One starter packet, and already 13+ months from it!

    I purchased this item in February of 2019 and made yogurt right away when I received it. I eat one 8 ounce yogurt per day. I have been taking 3 tablespoons of yogurt out of the last yogurt from each batch to make the next batch. I am still making it from the 1st starter packet after over 13 months. The extra packet was never needed, although I did try making a batch from it after it sat for 6 months, but it had already went bad. The extra pack won’t last long if left in storage, but it is not needed anyway!

    Best as an add-in, not so great alone

    Update: Using one packet with one quart alone did not work; however, I added the other packet I had to my normal yogurt receipe and it worked great this time. The yogurt that came out of the strainer was very thick and flavorful. Using one fluid ounce of store yogurt plus one packet of this product worked best.

    Good Starter for Yogurt

    Bought this to go with our Yogurt maker, and it makes a great Greek Yogurt. However we have found that buying one yogurt from the store and making it with that is much easier and cost effective.

    So delicious!

    My goodness this makes delicious yogurt! So sweet and creamy!! I usually make/eat kefir, but since my goats aren't in milk, I thought I'd do yogurt again. This is better yogurt than I've ever made before. Just in case this made a difference, I added five Tbls of powdered milk.

    Quality product and easy to make

    Not as tangy as I thought it would be and texture is a bit more viscose than expected but I think this will develop or change slightly as I make additional batches (as suggested on package).
